MomDesigner100 Program

Designing for a Better World

MomDesigner100 Program, initiated by Gao Yuan, Yoki and Jane, aims to find, link and support early career MomDesigners to build their own brand from scratch 0-1, while creating an inclusive and connected community with influential female founders.

The program will develop more-to-one and one-to-one mentorships as well as design networks to build mom designers’ social capital and increase their brands’ exposure. We firmly believe that sustainable design with a gender lens can greatly improve our quality of life4all and change the world for the better.

MomDesigner100 program is powered by
MomCEO100 and Women Entrepreneurs Club, which supports women entrepreneurs in their seed stage businesses.

Through MomDesigner100 program, GMI aims to incorporate sustainability into design and act as an advocate for a greener and happier world for all.

  • Design for gender equality, social impact and social innovation.

  • Design for #betterlife4all, focusing on the wellbeing of moms and children.

  • Cost-effective solutions, environmental-friendly materials and sustainable lifestyle philosophies in every design thinking and process.

  • Commitment to fulfill ourselves through empowering others.

We welcome moms from sustainable energy, architecture, fashion, jewelry, handicrafts, technology and many more professional backgrounds to join our network. Get inspired and inspire others!

Introduction to Design Education Courses

To help mainstream the idea that "Everyone is a designer, and everyone can design", GMI has partnered with designers across the world from different disciplines and social backgrounds to develop our first series of design education courses.

In 2022 we launched 11 sessions directly targeting more than 30 women/moms who are interested in design thinking and exploration, including: the origin of design, stories which inspire jewelry design, starting a design brand from scratch, architecture design and environmental psychology, sustainable design, how to identify and eliminate the gender biases in tech products, interior design trends, and more.

These educational courses will continue year by year, involving more topics and engaging new designers, artists, and partners in the field of sustainable and gender-inclusive design. In 2023 we are preparing to launch the second series. For updates please follow us on WeChat:

Our Mentorship Plan

Learning by Doing is a model that GMI applies to provide effective mentorship towards junior designers or absolute beginners. We identify and connect designers with aligned values and professional capacity to create teams that deliver complex design tasks and fulfill clients’ goals, which, on the other hand, are aligned with the same values to bring positive change into the societies. Currently, our Design Center offers opportunities to junior designers to work pro bono, and learn by doing, while being guided and supervised by senior designers.
